William J. Camera & Company was formed in 2011.  The Firm is committed to the highest level of personal attention and technical knowledge with skills that apply to a wide range of industries including the medical, real estate and professional services.  Working with and understanding the dynamics of family office groups and high net worth individuals has always been a strength of the Firm.  We have successfully led and assisted in family business tax saving planning, asset transfer and generational asset and business progression which has resulted in significant income and estate tax savings.

Our small business group assists a diverse array of entrepreneurs with their federal, state and local tax compliance, bookkeeping and all financial matters, guiding them from inception to retirement.

We assist other CPA firms with their more challenging income tax and sales tax audits and have been pleased with the outcomes.

Our professional staff is only certified public accountants and we are confident that our attention to detail is equal to that client commitment.

Our Staff

William J. Camera, CPA

Mr. Camera has over 30 years of professional experience, rising to partner during 1994.  His trajectory has led him to founding William J. Camera & Company.  William’s experience encompasses advising a diverse client population including Medical Professionals, Real Estate development and management, Legal and other professional services.
His experience with small business as a tax accountant and business advisor has led his firm’s clients to build a successful accounting function and effective tax strategies.

William has negotiated with major medical groups on behalf of his medical professional clients where the financial aspects of merger which has resulted in excellent valuations for the firm’s clients.

He has teamed with medical practices on both advising larger groups on acquisitions and merging smaller practices into larger practices and major medical groups.  William has served as advisor to a large multi office medical group including redesigning their revenue recognition model, preparing the group for upstream merger, advising executive management during negotiation process.  His in depth participation with the entity’s executive team during due diligence period and planning the selling partners’ tax result from the transaction resulted in a completed transaction that financially satisfied the enterprise’s partners.

William has testified as an expert witness in both civil and criminal matters. He has provided litigation support services and in most instances, participated in dispute settlement averting expensive litigation.

He has advised clients for purchase and sale of closely held businesses including leading due diligence, participating in the determination valuation of those businesses, advising and in several cases participating in the negotiation phase.

Mark Ford, CPA

Mr. Ford brings over 30 years of Private and Public accounting experience to the firm. He spent 20 years with a prominent family office managing the accounting staff. Primary responsibilities included financial statement preparation and tax return preparation for their family investments. He coordinated the effort to find and install the best portfolio accounting and general ledger systems that would be the foundation for reporting on investments for over 1 billion of assets under management. Eventually he advanced to being the CFO of the family run hedge funds responsible for financial statement preparation, performance reporting, SEC filings and tax planning and preparation. In 2011, Mark returned to public accounting and for 10 years was tax manager at Waldman Hirsch & Company LLP. With a diverse array of clients Mark was responsible for handling the accounting and tax preparation for high net worth individuals, private equity partnerships and corps, non-profits and offshore trusts. He has handled successful IRS audits and state residency audits.

Mary P. Tretola, CPA

Joining William J. Camera & Co. in 2011, Mary brings over 30 years of professional experience in both public and private accounting.  She provides accounting, financial and taxation advice to a variety of clients including real estate professionals, medical practices, family office and high net worth individuals.

Mary has worked closely with a large medical practice, assisting in the design of a model for the recognition of their revenue, and leading that practice’s accounting department in all monthly financial compliance.  She also provides accounting and tax services to large family real estate offices.

Prior to William J. Camera and Co., Mary managed accounting departments at several large publicly traded corporations.  She has an extensive background in Financial Reporting, Investment and International Accounting and Consolidations.

Mary holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from St. John’s University in Jamaica, New York.  She is also a member of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Angello R. Gutierrez, E.A., MBA

Angello joined William J. Camera & Company in 2017 bringing his accounting skills and  four years of experience in small business and individual tax compliance. Angello primarily assists businesses in filing and preparing their sales tax and payroll registrations, sales tax and payroll returns, federal and state income tax returns, monthly bookkeeping, QuickBooks cleanups, compilation reports and other services as needed.  His industry experience includes medical, real estate, retail, advertising and other professional services. Angello also assists individuals by gathering their tax data, preparing their tax returns, answering tax questions and responding to IRS and state correspondence.

Angello received his Bachelor in Accounting and Master of Business Administration from St. Joseph’s College in 2014, and 2016, respectively.  In 2016, Angello successfully passed the Enrolled Agent exam given by the IRS.  To pass this test, a professional must show skills in individual and business tax returns.  As an enrolled agent, Angello has unlimited rights to represent taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service in all 50 states.  Angello is also required to complete 72 hours of continuing education every three years.   After becoming an Enrolled Agent, Angello passed the Certified Public Accountant’s examination in March of 2018 and is eagerly awaiting the issuance of his license.
